Over the course of their careers, the members of OrangeSoda’s management team have served tens of thousands of clients with their marketing needs. Altogether, OrangeSoda’s management team has hundreds of years’ experience working with small businesses, which gives them a thorough understanding of online marketing and consumer behavior, and a clear view of the future of the online marketing industry, providing unique insights into how to best serve OrangeSoda clients.

Jay Bean

Chairman and CEO

Jay Bean is the founder and CEO of OrangeSoda, Inc., a marketing-driven technology company that empowers merchants with smaller advertising budgets to maximize their online presence through its search marketing and optimization platform. He is responsible for guiding the company's strategy, and growth. OrangeSoda has helped hundreds of merchants implement successful online advertising since bringing its core technology to market in early 2007. Through the company's proprietary analytics-driven campaign management center, local merchants are now realizing the effectiveness of localized search engine marketing and optimization.

Prior to OrangeSoda, Bean founded ah-ha.com a leading pay-for-performance search engine marketing company in 1999. ah-ha.com connected thousands of merchants with millions of consumers via highly targeted pay-per-click advertising program including paid search listings, contextual advertising, and paid inclusion. In February 2003 ah-ha.com was acquired by Marchex Inc. (MCHX). Bean held several senior executive management positions during his seven years at ah-ha.com (later renamed Enhance Interactive).

Gary Winterton

President

Gary is President of OrangeSoda, Inc., Gary joins OrangeSoda after having served as Executive Vice President of Logoworks a Hewlett-Packard Company. Prior to joining Logoworks, Gary Served as Vice President of Sales at Enhance Interactive, (formerly ah-ha.com). Gary was one of the primary executives that led and contributed to the company's rapid growth and its eventual sell to Marchex (NASDAQ: MCHX). He has held a variety of senior leadership positions throughout his career, including: Founder and President of Internet Marketing Concepts, Board of Director, Wiworks.com, Western Region Manager of First Things First sales, and Consultant for the Covey Leadership Center, as well as Vice President of Clear Image, a Utah based production company. In these capacities, Gary has innovated and delivered significant results in various sale and business development channels. He has developed strategic relationships with companies such as, Sun Microsystems, Snap-On Tools, Avon, Tupperware, Hewlett Packard, Amway International, Morinda, many others. Gary attended UVSC, University of New Orleans, and holds a BS degree from Brigham Young University.

Derek O. Miner

Co-Founder,
EVP of OrangeSoda Enterprise

Derek O. Miner is a Co-Founder, and EVP of OrangeSoda Enterprise at OrangeSoda, Inc., a marketing-driven technology company that empowers companies with smaller advertising budgets to maximize their online presence. A leader in online search marketing, Miner has created and maintained strategic relationships with large advertising agencies and Fortune 500 companies including Omnicom, Sears, and AOL. He most recently was Director of Sales and Strategic Accounts at Enhance Interactive, where he built a sales team from the ground up. His other areas of expertise include strategic partnerships, marketing distribution, partner management, and product design and implementation. Miner's proven track record includes seven years of online advertising experience; he is a veteran of start-up organizations. He is known for his creativity in structuring and closing strategic relationships. Miner also oversees OrangeSoda Enterprise, a division of OrangeSoda that caters to large accounts and agency relationships. Miner earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Industrial Design from Brigham Young University. His passions include golf, horseback riding, cycling and playing the drums. He can do a handful of impressive vocal impersonations. Miner resides with his family in Provo, Utah.

Chris Finken

Co-Founder,
EVP of Research & Development

Chris Finken is a Co-Founder, and EVP of Research & Development of OrangeSoda Inc. From 2002 to 2004, Finken was Strategic Distribution Executive at Enhance Interactive, where his role was to discover, establish, and create new distribution and business channels. As a direct result of his efforts, the company's monthly distribution revenue increased by 30%. He has founded and successfully operated numerous online businesses in areas such as lead generation, affiliate marketing, dietary supplements, videos, health & beauty, and education. These ventures have provided him with extensive hands-on experience in pay-per-click marketing, search engine optimization, monetizing traffic and inspired him to create powerful optimization systems and methodologies. In addition, Finken has wide-ranging experience in building channel relationships, streamlining processes, and task-flow management. Finken lives in Saratoga Springs, Utah, with his family. His collection of random collectibles includes many bobble-head figures, dancing hamsters and tchotchke's.

Cody Hunter

VP of Business Development

Cody Hunter is the VP of Business Development for OrangeSoda, Inc. Prior to working at OrangeSoda Hunter held the position of Vice President of Business Development at Findology Interactive Media, Inc. At Findology Cody oversaw all Business Development initiatives and strategies. He was responsible for increasing overall company revenue by 30%. Before Findology, Cody was the Sr. Business Development Manager at Marchex (mchx) where he handled all business development responsibilities for marchex’s domains.

Jed Smith

VP of Sales and Service

Jed came to OrangeSoda from Logoworks, a Hewlett-Packard company, where he served as the Vice President of Sales, prior to which he was Sales Manager at Enhance Interactive where he built and lead a successful sales force, assisting in the company’s rapid growth leading up to an acquisition by Marchex (NASDAQ: MCHX). Now serving as the Vice President of Sales and Service at OrangeSoda, Jed brings eight years of experience in the online marketing industry developing, implementing, and managing high-performance sales and service organizations where he now ensures the quality of OrangeSoda's messaging to clients and potential clients, as well as the high caliber of personal service that is provided. Jed holds a Bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University.

Alex McArthur

VP of Search

Alex McArthur is the Vice President of Search at OrangeSoda where he oversees processes, strategies, and implementation of search engine optimization services for thousands of clients. With 10 years of Internet marketing experience, Alex and his team - along with in-house development - have innovated a variety of cutting edge tools. Previous to OrangeSoda, he directed a team at Xactware, ran a private marketing agency, and directed marketing efforts for an e-commerce hardware player. Many consider Alex to be OrangeSoda’s leading schwag collector.

Daniel Hemmert

Chief Financial Officer

Daniel Hemmert is the chief financial officer of OrangeSoda. Prior to OrangeSoda, Dan worked as a banker/consultant with Horizon Partners, a boutique advisory firm, and as an M&A attorney with the international law firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. Prior to Pillsbury, Dan led the transaction services team for all US-based private equity transactions for Partners Group, a premier private equity firm based in Switzerland with over $23 billion under management. While on the transaction services team, Dan structured, negotiated, and executed over $1.4 billion in private equity transactions. Prior to Partners Group, Dan was a principal at a private real estate firm and an analyst in the M&A group of a regional bank. Dan graduated with a JD/MBA from Brigham Young University and also completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University in Economics. As a former member of the BYU Cycling Team and a regular participant in the Utah Winter Games, Dan is an avid outdoor sportsman regularly competing in biking, running, and skiing events.

Keith Klundt

Chief Technology Officer

Keith Klundt has been CTO at OrangeSoda since February 2009. He’s responsible for product development and all aspects of system operations. Keith began his career as a business and language analyst managing translation projects across the globe and made the move to software product and project management in response to the need for technology solutions to global systems challenges. He came to OrangeSoda as a group product manager in August 2007, bringing with him over ten years of experience in a variety of technology roles including Director of Engineering at Accela, Inc., a provider of software and services to municipal governments; Director of Engineering at LDS Physical Facilities, where he lead the development and worldwide implementation of a web-based facilities maintenance and project management system; and Senior Product Manager at eBay. Keith has built successful product development organizations at several private and public companies by creating a clear understanding of process, roles, and responsibilities, and aligning technology goals and metrics with business objectives. Keith has an MBA from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Business. As a technology leader he aligns processes and people to support business objectives and strategy. He’s an ardent believer in and practitioner of agile methods for delivering business value.

Noelle Bates

Public Relations

Noelle Bates is an expert in public relations with 13 years of experience working with hi-tech start-ups. Prior to joining OrangeSoda, Noelle was the Vice President of Corporate Communications at Logoworks (now MarketSplash by HP) and was an integral member of the company’s executive team. Noelle was responsible for raising the visibility of the start-up and helped usher it through its eventual acquisition by Hewlett Packard in 2007.

Noelle gained valuable experience working for two different hi-tech PR agencies early in her career – Connect PR and MWS Agency (now Snapp Conner PR) – and worked for both firms in Utah and San Francisco. During her agency years Noelle worked with companies such as Symantec, Lexmark, Sorensen Media, vSpring as well as numerous start-ups.After her tenure on the agency side, Noelle took the role of Director of PR at Salt Lake-based ContentWatch and later was Director of Corporate Communications for an eco-friendly manufacturer of household goods with revenues in excess of $600 million. Noelle has served on the board of the Utah Valley Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for four years and was the Chapter President in 2008. She is also the Founder of First & Girl (http://www.firstandgirl.com), a football website and football jewelry line designed for female fans.
