Ah, ‘tis the season. It’s that wonderful time of the year when people start feeling a little bit more generous and turn their attention toward others just a little bit more than usual. It’s a beautiful time of year.

With all the holiday joy and abundant spirit of giving, we all have a tendency to pull out our wallets more often than we usually would and make more purchases. When it comes right down to it, the holiday season is one of the most popular times for consumers to buy. This means you, as a business owner, should be ready to offer your customers amazing deals that make you more attractive than your competitors. One the best ways to make sure you are there when consumers are ready pull out their credit cards is by offering Christmas coupons. Here are some excellent Christmas coupon ideas you can offer to your customers this holiday season.

1. Email coupons

If you’ve spent some time collecting email addresses from your customers, now is the perfect time to use them. Send out a flashy looking Christmas coupon offering a discount on your products and services.

2. Mobile coupons

Tap into the mobile market by texting out a mobile coupon to your mobile subscribers. I personally wait to go shopping until I receive these messages. I love getting mobile discounts from my favorite stores, and always end up spending way more when I feel like I’m getting a good deal.

3. Be creative

Consider running a special promotion with redeemable coupons around a fun holiday theme. For example, 12 days of Christmas coupons, Advent mobile scratch coupons with a different promotion each day, Christmas Eve only coupons, etc. The possibilities are endless.

4. Go social

Consider giving a discount to those who share your coupon via social media. December is also a great month to host a giveaway on your social media sites. You can also take special advantage of Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and other big label shopping events.

5. Use a coupon service

Look to Groupon, Living Social, your local newspaper, or another similar coupon service to help you promote your business. This is great any time of year—not just December.

December is one of the best times to gain businesses by offering coupons, so get to it. Your customers will love you for it, and reward you with more loyalty.
